Listening Info

Q: I am using Windows Media Player and Beatz Radio is not working or is dropping out. How come?

A: It could be that your version of Windows Media Player cannot handle Window Media 11 Pro Format, which the Beatz stream is encoded at.

We suggest installing the latest version of Windows Media Player here

Please note: Download here if you are a MAC user

Q: I just heard a really good song but forgot the name of it. How do i find out the name of a recent track that was played?

A: Just click on the 'Playlist' link in the 'Now Playing' window and it will show you the last few tracks that were played. Alternately, you can attempt to sing the track via email and we can attempt to guess it. Our email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Q: Why does the Beatz website take so long to load?

A: It could be that you are using an old browser. Sometimes newer we technologies are not supported by older web browsers. It is best to keep up to date with the latest ones. We recommend Mozilla Firefox.

Get the latest version of Firefox here

Q: I am concerned about exceeding my download limit while using the Beatz site. Does Beatz take up much of this?

A: Well that all depends on how much and how often you download from our site.

Here are some common download occurrences:

Listening to the Beatz Feed

Beatz Radio streams at 32kb per second and is considered to be a download to your computer. If you were to listen for 60 minutes, you would use approximately 6.58Mb of your download limit.

Watching 'Beatz LIVE' Video's

Beatz LIVE streams at 320kb per second and is also considered to be a download to your computer. This all depends on the duration of the video but if you were to watch a standard 6 minute video you would use approximately 11.25mb of your download limit.

* Remember: 1024mb is equal to 1Gb. if you have a standard 20Gb download limit with your ISP, that will leave you with plenty left over for Beatz.

This is to be used as a guide only and Beatz will not be held responsible if you exceed your download limit. If you are unsure how much of your download limit you have used you are advised to check with your ISP.
